Course Information:
In physical science we will study introductory CHEMISTRY during the first semester and introductory PHYSICS
to wrap up the year.
It is my intent to teach students in such a way that they are applying the science and problem-solving skills they learn
in my class to their lives outside of the school walls. I also hope to make your child's experience in science this
year an enjoyable one so as to get them excited about learning (science in particular).

A little bit about me:

From 1997 to 2001 I attended Michigan State University to earn my bachelor of science degree with a major in physical
science and a minor in math. It was during that time that MSU won the National Championship in basketball
and made multiple Final Four appearances. GO GREEN! It was an exciting time to be a Spartan! I am currently
working on my master's degree in education through Viterbo University and I expect to wrap that up in the summer of 2008.
I started teaching physical science (and other science courses) in 2003 and have enjoyed the opportunity to work with
young adults ever since. During my first two years of teaching, I taught in Rockford, MI and coached
middle school boys' basketball and tennis. In the summer of 2005 my wife and I moved to Des Moines to be closer to my
wife's family and I began teaching in Ankeny. Since that time we have had two beautiful daughters: Adeline (Addie)
and Emilia (Millie). I am truly blessed to have such a great family and a great occupation.
In my spare time I enjoy playing and watching sports (especially football, basketball, and tennis), camping, kayaking,
and spending time with my family.
